Much of the region surrounding Mylor Conservation Park has been cleared for residential and agricultural purposes. The park forms part of a mosaic of remnant bushland areas which are linked by vegetation corridors on both public and private land. Numerous bird species inhabit the area and it is worth keeping an eye out for western grey kangaroos and eastern brown snakes. A section of the Heysen Trail runs through the park.
